School Pictures

I got my kids school pictures yesterday, and it got me thinking about my pictures when I was young. I'll have to scan in some of Steve's school pictures too. Man, some of them are SOOOOO funny. Sorry Steve! :-D

Here are the kids pictures for this year... and yes, Ryan looks totally crazy! I really wish that the photographers would take a few extra moments with the kids that look psycho when they do crazy smiles. Oh well!

Klutz.....

Well, it's official, I'm a klutz and totally falling apart. On Saturday I went to the ward camp out, the boys all spent the night, but I just came up Saturday morning. They split everyone into teams like the Olympics, so I was in Russia. Then they set up crazy and silly pseudo Olympic games, some that involved Cheetos and shaving cream. LOL.... It would have been great had I not participated in the tug of war.

Now before you go...... with your back??? Let me explain, I warned my team I couldn't really help much, but they needed another person. So when the pulling began, all I was willing to do was grab the rope and just lean back. All was well until the other team lurched and we were pulled forward, that's when my ankle got caught in a small hole and twisted, and a creepy pop sound happened. Well, that's when I went to the ground.

It seems I ripped a tendon in my ankle, which makes it so I can't walk right. Which in turn made my back really start to hurt. Then after a few days of that, my knee on the opposite leg has started to hurt, because I am using that leg for almost everything. HOLY COW! It sucks getting old! Can't I just get a new body? One that is preferably skinny?

Flashback Friends

In this picture we have, from back row (left to right), Kerry, Me, Matt, Stephanie, Lori, Susie, (front row) Lizzy and Linda! We were the neighborhood hoodlums that were constantly ding dong ditching and toilet papering peoples houses. I'm surprised we didn't get into more trouble than we did. But I remember playing with Kerry, Stephanie, Lizzy and Linda during the summer nights. We were suppose to come on when the street lights came on..... But my mom or dad always had to yell to get us to come in at night.

Getting Desperate

OK, so here is what I'm thinking. For the sake of my back, and my self-esteem, I have got to start losing weight. My first obstacle is my really bad back. I'm in physical therapy, and I'm doing fairly well at it, but it still limits me some. Second obstacle, big ole cortisone shots. I've had three rounds of them in 6 weeks. And I know that will make losing weight a major challenge. So obviously, I'll have to continue my work with the physical therapist, but that still leaves my diet up for grabs.

Now as far as diets go, I can not eat all that pre-packaged crap, it just makes me gag. I am in a dinner group, which means, I have dinners brought to me every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.... just the main dish. Which is WONDERFUL, yet it leaves me unable to know the nutritional content of my meals. Most of the things they bring are fairly healthy.

OK, so there it is! How on earth do I even go about getting a handle on this with my crazy life? Any good idea's anyone? And Blake...... watch yourself! :-)

Flashback Friday

My Aunt Nancy used to make us matching outfits around Christmas time. We were the little house on the prairie gang this year. I'm on the far left by the way.

Election Time

Eric is getting in on the election atmosphere. He is running for student council to represent the 7th graders. We were busy yesterday making his posters. It was fun making them with him. We made three different one's.

Ryan and Emmalie

I just found these pictures and thought they were so cute. First up is a picture of Ryan holding Emmalie when she was only a few weeks old. Ryan was 3 years old here.

Next up is such a cute picture taken at the 4th of July, this year. Emmalie was a little scared by the loud fireworks, but she was much braver with Ryan by her side.

You know, the funny thing about Ryan, is that when he was a bit younger he did not like babies! I don't know what his problem was, but he just didn't. But for some unexplainable reason, he's always liked Emmalie.

Friday Night Adventure...... NOT!

Allen and Eric were playing in my bedroom, where Allen hit his head on my bed frame. Allen came out of the room calmly saying that his head was bleeding. Steve took a look at it and got a little freaked out. Allen had a very deep gash over an inch long, just above his hairline. So I took Allen to urgent care, where he received 5 staples to his head. I have to say, the staples look totally crazy! The doctor was a little more worried about me than Allen, I think he was afraid I would pass out. He could tell I wasn't doing well with all that stuff! Blood and guts are just not my thing! All the goopy stuff is Neosporin by the way.

MIA

Sorry about being MIA for the last little bit. Once I got my new computer, I just got busy with trying to get everything in working order. Then I had to get things ready for the kids to start back at school. Plus about a million other things.
