Yes, this is my whole family in the photo, except my dad, who I assume took it. By the way, no that's not my dad in the middle back, that's my mom. LOL... I saw some pictures of my mother in law at about the same time period, and she had a boy haircut too. Must have been popular at the end of the 70's. Makes me wonder what my haircuts and stuff will look like in 20 years. :-) By the way, doesn't Lori look so dang cute in this picture?Friday, July 25, 2008

Physical Therapy
So, I've started physical therapy for my back and all I have to say is...... I think physical therapists are all sadistic. Every time I would show that a certain exercise was really hurting, she would smile. What is that about? It reminds me of when Desi waxed my legs..... if I would yelp, she would get a big smile on her face. Sadists, the whole lot of them!!! :-)

Shad is going home......
After three weeks with Shad, Lori has come to pick him up. I thought I'd put some of the pictures that we took while he was here. He was here for the 4th of July. And it being summer, he got to go out on the boat quite a bit. Then he went to see Desi's new baby in the hospital.
We always enjoy our visits with Shad!

Babies, Babies, and more Babies!
Kami & David had baby Glen on June 19th, he weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz.
then
Kathy & Todd had baby Sophie July 8th, 7 lbs. 10 oz.
then
Emily & Danny had baby Ella July 11th, (don't know her weight).
And at 2am, I got a call to head to the hospital, because Desi was in labor. She was scheduled to go to the hospital at 6:30 am to be induced. But instead, she arrived early, didn't need to be induced, and had Baby Blake at 6:21 am weighing in at 7 lbs. 13 oz.
Congratulations to all!

The 4th of July
Steve went boating with the kids in the morning. And they really had fun. Shad got a little rope burn on his arm, that he seemed rather proud of. It was just Steve and the boys on the boat, so they were nice and tired when they were done.
Later that night we headed over to the Schultz's for dinner, then Kathy's for fireworks. We always have fun watching the "big boys" shooting off the fireworks. They are as entertaining as the fireworks themselves. On the way home, we parked in a parking lot and watched the fireworks from Stadium of Fire for a little while. Overall, it was a good day!

Return of the Flashback Friday
I was seriously running out of old pictures, and just got busy. So I've taken a break from the ol' flashback thing. But then Andrea went through her boxes of photos and scanned a ton of them in for me. So now I have lots of stuff. I just had to start with one of my favorites. I am pretty sure Kerry and I did this for Halloween.I think we were going for punk, but i think it looks a little closer to clown. Me especially! Check out the cheeks! LOL

Vacation Finale
Well, I have to add a few things. First of all, one quick funny story.... Ryan kept saying, "why is everything dead here?"
We could not convince him that the joshua trees were either trees, or alive. He just wouldn't believe us, he just kept saying that everything was dead.
Next we have the thank Andrea!!!!!! She got us into Disneyland in the summer.... something she is understandably adverse to doing. And she got us into the hotel for free as well. Plus she let us infiltrate her usually quiet home. And the only reason you see me in any of the photos is because she became our personal family photographer. Thank a ton Andrea!
In closing, I just thought I'd add a few photos of the last day before we left, and one at Danny's house where we were able to stay. Thanks Danny!
Vacation Part 2
After going to Disneyland on Tuesday, the beach and La Brea Tar Pits on Wednesday, we took Thursday off to recuperate. On Friday we started going again. It started off with Steve taking the boys to Vasquez Rocks.http://parks.co.la.ca.us/vasquez_narea.html
Next we went to the really cool air park in Palmdale. I love looking at these planes because I grew up with them flying overhead all the time. The only problem was that is was so hot! It felt like my face was going to melt.

Family Vacation Part 1
We have had a lot of fun on family vacation! Our first excursion was to Disneyland/California Adventure. Here are a few of the highlights.... We ALL went on Tower of Terror. Ryan had no idea what to expect, and he wasn't real happy about it. Throughout the entire day, he kept saying, "I'm never going on that ride again". And then there is Eric...... He was totally terrified to go on it, but he went on it anyway. Let's just say, I don't think he will go on it again..... EVER. But I was proud of him for giving it a try.
We got completely soaked on Grizzle Rapids. As a matter of fact, I was wet until about 6:00 pm. And we went on that ride about 10:30 am. But the kids favorite ride was...
the Buzz Lightyear ride in Disneyland. You take these cars and you have laser guns and you try to shoot these Zerg symbols throughout the ride. The best part, is that it keeps score for you and you compete for the highest score. It was so much fun.
The next day we went to the beach in El Segundo. One of the cool things about going to the beach there, is that you can see the planes taking off from LAX. Not that the kids were really looking, they were too busy being buried in the sand.
They loved the beach... well, they always do. After leaving the beach, we went back to the hotel for them to wash off. Then we headed to the La Brea Tar Pits.
Well, that was day 1 and 2 of our excursions, when we get back I'll post about everything else... because we have gone to an airplane museum, Vasquez Rocks, and a water park called Drytown... nice name isn't it. So Ta Ta for now... :-)

The Wonders of Scout Camp
Well, Eric left for scout camp yesterday, and all I can say is YEAH! Peace at last! With only two kids to get on each others nerves, it's so much more peaceful. And Eric is really a "tween" now, with all the crazy moodiness in tow. I know he will eventually grow out of it, and the real teens will be here any day, but holy cow! I think I'm doing something wrong, because the kids have been fighting like crazy so far this summer. Any advise for when Eric gets back?
